Audi Car Key Programming (Does Not Work On Newer Audis)
- Start by rolling down one of the Audi windows.
- Use a spare/service key to turn the ignition to the “on” position. All the instrument panel lights come on, (don’t start the car).
- Step out of the Audi and close all the doors also, make sure the trunk and hood is closed.
- With a second key (bare-metal), lock the doors using the bare metal key. (DO NOT USE REMOTE)
- Use the non-programmed remote to press the unlock button once. The car lights should flash once.
- After 10 seconds press the unlock button (Same non-programmed remote). This time, the doors will unlock. Tadah! The Audi key is programmed.
- If you need to program more keys, lock the Audi door with your service key (Bare Metal Key, NOT THE REMOTE).
- Press the unlock button twice (on the non-programmed remote) within one second, the lights will flash twice.
- Wait 10 seconds and press the unlock button on the same remote again. Your Audi doors should open and Bam! Your second Audi remote is programmed.
- After you are done programming all of your keys, remove the key from the ignition which will exit the program mode. If you have a third key then repeat the steps but push unlock 3 times instead of 2.
PROGRAMMING AN EXISTING AUDI REMOTE
**Warning** By programming a new key you might erase the other keys that are stored in your Audi car’s memory. **
- Press the unlock button on your key fob and hold it.
- While you hold the unlock button pressed (Don’t lift off of unlock), insert your key into the ignition and turn to position II.
- Continue to hold the unlock button for three seconds and then remove your key from the ignition. Your Audi key fob should be programmed now.
Transponder Keys
As you probably already know you can’t simply just cut a new transponder key unless you only want it to unlock your car doors. You need a transponder key AKA chipped key.
Service Keys
Your Buick service key is typically located inside your key fob, it is typically used to access a vehicle with a dead battery or other electronic failure. However, keep in mind a service key will not start your Buick.
Remote Keys
Your Buick remote key is your remote key that is used on push to start vehicles. No key is necessary and no more fumbling in your pocket, purse, or bag for your car keys. These are becoming one of the most popular car key options.
